The Rt Rev Robert Herbert Mize, Jr. (known as Bob; February 4, 1907 – August 17, 2000) was Bishop of Damaraland from 1960[1] to his expulsion in 1968.[2]
He was born into an ecclesiastical family[3] in Emporia, Kansas on February 4, 1907[4] and educated at the University of Kansas.[5] After his ordination in 1932 he worked with disadvantaged boys at a mission in western Kansas.[6]
In 1945 he founded the St. Francis Boys Home[7] at Ellsworth in the center of the state, a position he held until his elevation to the Episcopate.[8] A supporter of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament in the USA,[9] he died in 2000 and is buried in Ellis County, Kansas.[10]
